The third edition of the Writers Room Series, produced with SeriesFest, LIU TV Writers Studio and Dilettante Productions, was recently held this month. And the episodic series that resulted was the product of two and a half days of brainstorming, writing, and tons of inspiration!
Each Writers Room tackles the creative development of a new series of varying genres. Writers use a series bible and pilot outline created by Unreal Media to develop characters, story arcs, and episode outlines for the first season. Along with expanding their writing portfolios, participants are given the opportunity to work alongside a prestigious community of television professionals. Over the course of the three-day workshop, a hand-picked group of screenwriters, producers, and a head writer work together to flesh out a new series. During the final day of the workshop, the writers live-edit the pilot episode, led by Unreal producers and the head writer.
The amazing talent and strong voices that came out of the Brooklyn Writers Room at Steiner Studios blew everyone away! And a big thank you to TVWS Director, Ken LaZebnik for doing a great job as head writer.
